Use Search to quickly find the product you are looking for.
Based on the search terms you entered, our Search calculates a score for each matching product. When calculating a score, the system will take into account how often the search term is mentioned in product fields such as the Product ID, Name, Description, or assigned features, or in documents linked to the product.
The location of the search term in the product fields can change the calculated score of a product. For example, if you search for "Desktop", then products having the word "Desktop" in their Product Name (Product Name: "Powerhouse Desktop 7550") are ranked higher than products having the word "Desktop" somewhere in the text of an attached datasheet.
If a search is not explicitly specified as a phrase search (see Phrase Searches), then the search is performed according to word search logic. This means that the search result will contain products containing at least one of the words you specified in your search terms, and it automatically widens the scope of the search to include products with words belonging to the same word stem. For example, searching for "computer" will also include products containing the words "computing", "computers", "compute", and so on. Common words and characters such as "where" and "how" are ignored in searches because they tend to slow down your search without improving the results.
You can search for complete phrases by enclosing them in quotation marks. Products with words enclosed in double quotes ("Ink Printer") will appear together in all results exactly as you have entered them. Phrase searches are especially useful when searching for known Product IDs and Names. For example, searching for "Ink Printer" will only return products containing exactly the phrase "Ink Printer".
To improve search results some common search terms may be mapped to phrases. For example, searches for "Printer" also searches for products containing the phrase "Desk Jet", "Laser Imaging System", and so on. The mapping to similar words and phrases is done automatically and therefore it might not be always obvious why a product is listed in the search result list.
* can be used in search terms for any number of unknown alphanumeric characters. For example, "Comput*" can be used to search for products containing words such as "computing systems", "computing power", "computational device", and so on. Note: Using "*" as the leading character when specifying a search term is not supported (for example, "*drives").
? can be used in search terms for exactly one unknown alphanumeric character. Note: Using "?" as the leading character when specifying a search term is not supported.
If you know more specific data about the product you are looking for and you are not satisfied with the returned search result, you might also try our Advanced Search function. Advanced Search allows you to compose searches containing multiple search criteria and target searches to specific product entities. For example you can limit your search for products to a product category, or you might look for a successor product of an old product, or you know the product application and want to search for products with certain features.
